A business website is really important for all businesses. Let it be a real estate company in Los Angelos or a software company in San Fransisco or any type of business in any part of the world.
A business website is like a modern-day business card. You can showcase your post work on that; you can allow potentials customers to get int touch with you or even allow your current customers to access a special client-only dashboard. The number of ways in which a business website can be used is unlimited. The only limitation is your imagination.
In this post, I am going to keep things general and talk about a business website should be like.
Before we jump right into that, note that number one does not essentially means that it is the most important or the last one does not mean that it is the least important one. It’s not like that. The points are random.
So what is an SSL? In simple words, a SSL encrypts the data being transferred from your website server and the users device. Having a SSL on your business website is so much important that you should literally pause this video right now, go purchase a SSL and come back. If you have a SSL activated on your website, the users will see a “Secure” badge besides the URL which ten-folds the trustworthiness of your website and business as well.
As the New-York Times best selling author Simon Sinek says “Customers don’t buy because of your ‘what’ or ‘how’. They buy because of your ‘why'”. So you can showcase your ‘why’ on your About page. Now what does I mean by “your why”? I mean the reason why you do, what you do. T here must be a reason you are running your business. Put that reason on your About page.
You have built this amazing business website but it doesn’t have a contact form. How the visitors are supposed to contact you? Your business website must have a contact form either on the Home page or a separate Contact page.
On your website you should have a Home page section or a separate page where you showcase your services. That will allow you to tell people about what you do and what your business is about.
Testimonials are very important to turn your visitors into customers. The words of your previous customers and clients are powerful enough to persuade new people to become your customer. Having a testimonials section on the Home page would definitely increase your conversion rate.
To recall, here are the five things that you should add to your business website today: SSL, About page, Contact page, Services, and Testimonials.
See you next week with another exciting post on business and web development.
